Midvale Historical Society & Museum

Just west of Interstate 15, the Midvale Historical Society & Museum has a simple goal: to "collect, preserve, and interpret" the heritage of Midvale – the charming city found between Salt Lake City and Sandy in northern Utah.

Head to the Midvale Historical Society & Museum and find an array of interesting artifacts like photographs, orignal documents, and belongings of the original settlers. This free museum is open for public tours Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays from noon to 4 p.m.

Natural History Museum of Utah

Attracting around 78,000 visitors each year, the Natural History Museum of Utah is part of the University of Utah’s Rio Tinto Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. Through the work of its four curators – Duncan Metcalfe, Ph.D., Eric Rickart, Ph.D., Mitchell Power, Ph.D., Randall Irmis, Ph.D. – the museum’s mission is to shed light on the natural world and the humans within.

Visitors to the museum will find extensive collections throughout the Anthropology, Biology, and Geology sections, which together contain millions of artifacts and animal specimens. A popular destination for school tours, the museum offers a wealth of educational programs and even after-school, Saturday, and summer classes.

USU Eastern Prehistoric Museum

Located in Castle Country, the USU Eastern Prehistoric Museum is located in Price in central Utah. Accredited by the mighty American Alliance of Museums, the museum is set on Utah State University’s Eastern campus.

The Prehistoric Museum covers archaeology and paleontology, and features tours, critter exhibit feedings, and a Children's Discovery Area. Be sure to check out Al the Allosaurus, the Utahraptor, and the Huntington Mammoth.

Rosenbruch Wildlife Museum

With a world-class, 35,000-square-feet facility, Rosenbruch Wildlife Museum is located in the southern Utah city of St. George. With a mission to promote the protective contribution managed sport hunting provides to wildlife, the museum invites visitors immerse themselves in the natural habitats of over 300 animal species.

Rosenbruch is a popular school field trip destination and individual visitors can enrich their experience with personal audio headset presentations accompanying displays throughout the museum.

Utah Museum of Fine Arts

Featuring over 17,000 works of art, the Utah Museum of Fine Arts is located on the University of Utah campus, near Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City, Utah. Accredited by the American Alliance of Museums, the museum offers exhibits, activities, and tours to visitors of all ages.

Under the direction of Gretchen Dietrich, past exhibits have included Splendid Heritage: Perspective on American Indian Art, and the popular Andy Warhol's Dream America: Screen prints from the Collection of the Jordan Schnitzer Family Foundation.
